This is the French translation of the book „Der Alleingang“. The European Union (EU) has its roots in a peace project which after the Second World War aimed to unite the belligerent Europeans. Thereafter, under the name EGKS, the Europeans jointly controlled the strategic resources coal and steel and thus stabilized the wartorn continent. This book investigates the fact that Switzerland did not take part in this development and today is not a member of the EU.
